I am confident that I can learn anything I need to quickly when under pressure and can step up to any challenge I put my mind to.

Work Experience

Online English Language Coach,
Learning Experience Designer

Vivaling Online Language Acadmy (remote) (2020- present)

  • Delivered thousands of personalized coaching sessions via Zoom to English learners of all ages, levels, learning differences and cultural backgrounds. 

  • Maintained professional email communication with learners and families of young learners, often in French.

  • Developed familiarity and comfort using online platforms and technologies and a variety of educational technology, taking on administrative oversight of a shared collection of online resources and helping with assessment and podcasts.

  • Used e-learning courses created on Rise 360.

  • Created and collected a range of personalized e-learning materials (presentations, games, interactive videos, etc.) Became proficient at content curation especially as related to teaching ESOL.

Language Teacher

Freelance, online and in person in Chiapas, Mexico. (2020- present)

  • Taught private and small group classes in both English and Spanish language in-person and online to students of  a variety of ages, levels and nationalities.

  • Briefly taught at local schools in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Mexico: Canadian Center (6 months), Colegio Melanie Klein (4 months) 

Classroom ESL Teacher, Kids Club Coordinator, Curriculum Developer

Interlink English, Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas, Mexico (2008-2020)

  • Developed classroom teaching skills with a range of ages (young children to adults) and language proficiency levels.

  • Coordinated several social events per year.

  • Developed and revised an original ESL curriculum for children with very little pedagogical training.

Preschool ESL Teacher (IB World School)

American School Foundation of Chiapas, Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas, Mexico (2015-2019)

  • Managed two teaching assistants.

  • Created educational plans and classroom strategies completely from scratch for groups of 20 very young children.

  • Taught classes, supervised and took care of large groups of children aged 2-6 years old. 

  • Mentored by experienced educators (this private school served ages from preschool to high school) during IB seminars and weekly teacher training meetings.

  • Successfully communicated cross-culturally with parents, co-workers, management and students on a daily basis.

Bilingual Administrative Assistant

Kentucky Racing Health and Welfare Fund, Louisville, KY, USA (2008-2009)

  • Worked professionally in a bilingual and cross-cultural English/Spanish setting.

  • Helped mostly low-income English and Spanish-speaking workers (within the horse racing industry at Churchill Downs) to access medical care, schedule doctors appointments, understand how to get their prescriptions and help them get their medical bills paid for by this charity foundation.

  • Learned the basics of medical insurance and the US healthcare system; called hospitals and other providers on behalf of the charity to negotiate and pay healthcare bills. 

ESL Teacher

100% Spanish, Louisville, Kentucky, USA (2007)

  • Created lesson plans for adult ESL students.

  • Taught small group classes to adult Spanish-speaking students. 

Long work history before teaching:

I started working and actively volunteering at a young age (14) and have surprisingly diverse experience in the following areas as well:
